Program Assistant
St. John’s Community Care – Metro East, IL
Work for a mission-driven, non-profit organization making a powerful impact in the lives of older adults and their caregivers.
St. John’s Community Care (SJCC), an outreach ministry of St. John’s United Church of Christ is seeking experienced and compassionate Program Assistants to interact and support adults and older adults in the Adult Day Program sites through engagement and motivation in planned group activities, physical assistance with walking, toileting, and eating, and coordination with each participants care team . With established programs in Collinsville, Edwardsville, and Highland, SJCC supports hundreds of families through:
- Adult day services
- Caregiver education and resources
- A medical equipment loan program
- Additional supportive community services
About the Opportunity
SJCC is searching for a dynamic, person-centered individual who is energized by mission, collaboration, and community impact. The ideal candidate will embrace working in a faith-based environment, bringing both creativity and excitement for service.
The Program Assistant will lead creative person-centered activities in a group setting, engage participants struggling with social interaction, and assist participants in ADLs where needed.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience in older adult services or related human services programs
- Strong skills in team coordination
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Compassion for caregiving
Compensation
$18 per hour, plus a competitive benefits package.
