Privacy Policy

St. John’s Community Care takes the privacy of client information very seriously.  All client information is stored either electronically or on hard copy papers.  Organizational passwords on all St. John’s computers are required to be complex and set to expire every 90 days.  All online databases used by SJCC are required to be HIPAA compliant.  Paper documents that contain PHI are stored in a locked file cabinet, accessible only to employees whose job functions require such data. All St. John’s Community Care employees sign an agreement to keep all clients’ PHI confidential and only to send emails, attachments, or texts containing PHI if messages are encrypted.  All employees who have access to Protected Health Information (PHI) have a dedicated user account so that access to PHI can be audited.   St. John’s network is protected by a firewall to ensure that it is secure from the Internet.  Additionally, the IT company centrally manages anti-virus to protect St. John’s PCs and servers and ensures that Microsoft Security Patches are applied to all of St. John’s PCs.

St. John’s Community Care uses Ring Central to contact participants and families.  This is optional for families, but is strongly encouraged.  By opting into SMS from a web form or other medium, you are agreeing to receive SMS messages from St. John’s Community Care. This includes SMS messages for changes to scheduling due to weather or illness or other situations and can also include updates about a participant’s day, as well as billing notifications and other important information. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
