We would like to let you know how grateful we are for the care provided by St. John's Adult Day Care. Your service was an answer to our prayers. Due to the death of her grandmother, we were in need of someone to care for Joni as both of us work. Joni was comfortable from the first time she visited and loved her time spent there. All of the staff were kind and caring and we knew Joni was happy and well cared for. Joni is adjusting well to her new environment, but misses everyone at St. John's. St. John’s has been wonderful! They are doing saintly work. When you love someone you want the best for them. When mom started having a few issues, I started checking out options. I really felt like a parent trying to find a trustworthy babysitter for a child. You don’t just hand off your child to anyone… because they cannot report. I am really fussy. I just want to know she is taken care of the way I would take care of her. Making sure she is safe, loved and treated with dignity. I found that kind of care with St. John’s Adult Day program. I can continue to work and take care of my personal needs while mom attends the program. I appreciate all the thought that goes into the program. They have entertainment, games, exercise, arts & crafts, and lots of social stimulation. All of these therapies are created to be fun experiences that are valuable to keeping her engaged and certainly add quality to her life. I love knowing she is “part of the family” at St. John’s. It makes my heart happy to know her time left here on earth can be meaningful and loving. I could go on and on! When you deeply love your parents, you want the best for them. Thank you so kindly for the walker and the shower chair. The walker is very nice, almost like new. We both use the shower chair and it is so great to be able to have a relaxing shower in our own home. After shopping for medical equipment, we knew we would never be able to afford that. I grew up in a farm family. My parents farmed their entire lives, so farming was not only a job—it was a way of life for them which they enjoyed and continued to do in their retirement. When my Mom became ill, my Dad became her main caregiver with help from my 2 sisters and me. As Mom’s health declined, it became too hard for my 80 year old Father to help Mom and manage their small farm on a daily basis. We decided to have my Mother became a participant at the Adult Day Center. On the days when she was there, we knew she was receiving excellent care and she was engaged in activities with other participants. This gave my father a break from care-giving and allowed him some guilt-free time outside tending to his farm. Attending St. John’s was a great choice and a blessing to my family!

I am writing to let you know as I remember Gene I also remember what a wonderful, caring, loving Adult Day program you have at St. John's Community Care. I call it the Angel Sanctuary. Where I met many angels serving there. With my children by my side we set out to look for the perfect place, so it turned out that St. John's was the 1st and last! My niece and I were so touched that day as you toured us through your center. We could see how warm and caring each one of the staff were and how they were caring for each one of the participants that day. I journaled during this journey and I look back are smile as I re-read all the "fun things" Gene and got to do and participate in. I am grateful he was cared for patiently, lovingly and in a fun and humorously way. My family will never forget you who serve there. Thank you for your friendship. Love Blanche

St. John’s is a wonderful place. My husband gets a full day of activity, both mental and physical, has fun, socializes, and enjoys helping others when he can. I, in turn, can get a few things done and relax a little. It’s so good for both of us. Being his caregiver 24/7 is truly exhausting. I am delighted St. John’s was able to reopen. During the months Jeff spent at home, he was less active and developed some mobility issues. I think that by returning to St. John’s and getting some therapy, he will get back to where he was.

I could tell when Van attended the Adult Day Program he was different, he was more content and agreeable. I really think the activities kept his mind busy and helped him have a since of accomplishment. All of the caregivers were always willing to answer any questions I had. They really cared about me and our entire family. St. John's helped us so much during the transition and gave us lots of information to help guide us before we had to move Van to a nursing care facility. I am grateful for their expertise! I so appreciate all the various links of communication everyone at St. John's stays on top of. You all are a great team. Thanks to the entire group at St. John's who take such pride in your jobs. The entire staff is great. In my work we often say "the speed of the leader is the speed of the group." Stacey is excellent in all aspects of her leadership position. She has compassion and truly loves her work. That is the environment she creates for those that work with her. My mom loves coming to St. John's. Playing games, crafts, different food than I cook and the fellowship is so valuable to her. St. John's provides so much more than I can attend to for her. I too am blessed to have her in the program. Thanks for helping enable her to stay living independent and not in a nursing home! Carolyn Koester

My prayers were answered when I was referred to St. John’s Community Care. I had to find home care for my mentally challenged brother who could not walk well or speak. I had a full time job and needed someone for 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I tried several other home care facilities before St. John’s and they did not work out. The day I met the caregiver director from St. John’s, I knew it was the one. I have been using St. John’s for home care for over 12 years. They have made my life so much easier and my brother continues to be happy with their care. In 2011 my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It was determined that he could stay at home but needed to attend a day program to keep his mind active. St. John’s was there to help me again. He enjoys the activities and seeing all the friends he has made since joining the group. In addition to the care services, they also provided me with additional resources that give me more balance and hope. I cannot say enough great things about St. John’s Community Care and all their services. It is like being part of a caring and loving family.
