This could include crafts, current events, exercises, music, and more.
As a Program Assistant, you’ll also be responsible for assisting participants who need help with activities, encouraging participation, and providing alternate activities for individuals who may not be able to participate fully. You’ll also assist participants with toileting and personal hygiene as needed and help them as family members arrive to take them home.
Be The Change!
Other responsibilities include cleaning up the room after activities, assisting with serving, set-up, and clean-up for meals and snacks, monitoring the bathrooms, and advising the Program Director or Program Nurse of any concerns about participant interactions or behavior.

In addition to these basic requirements, Program Aides must complete orientation training within the first month of working with the program and participate in ongoing training and staff meetings. You’ll also need to complete an application that authorizes us to check your references, conduct criminal record checks, and obtain a driving record abstract.
At St. John’s Community Care, we’re committed to maintaining a positive culture of teamwork and commitment to our mission. As a Program Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of this culture, helping us provide high-quality care to our participants and their families.
