It’s that time of the year when it seems every family is busy preparing to celebrate something. . . a wedding, graduation, family reunion, church picnic, barbeques on the 4th, the list goes on and on.
If you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or other aging issues, attending family and community events can present extra challenges for both you and your loved one. Loading up to travel to and from the event, the heat and extra stress can seem overwhelming. Sometimes stressful enough to keep you from going and enjoying your family and friend gatherings.
You may even be sacrificing your family vacations because of your caregiver responsibilities.
As a caregiver you know it’s important to take care of yourself. It’s healthy to take a break, make time for yourself to enjoy your life with your family and friends.
St. John’s wants to help you relax and have some fun this Summer! We know you want to include your loved one in as many family activities as possible and we can help you do that without all the extra stress.
All you need to do is call us. We would be happy to discuss how our caregivers can help you with your loved one while you are away or we can even coordinate one of our caregivers to take your loved one to an event you are attending and to bring them home when they are ready. That way you can stay and dance the night away—guilt free!
St. John’s caregivers are available 24 hrs. a day -7 days a week, allowing you to decide how long your loved one stays at an event or if staying in the comfort of their own home is a better option. Caregivers are available for overnight stays in case you are looking for a long weekend getaway. . . so go ahead, make your plans and have fun!
