IMPACT SUMMARY: St. John’s Community Care improves the quality of life for older and disabled adults living in the community so they can live at home as independently and as long as possible. With regular use of our services, family caregivers and their loved ones also experience less stress. These services provide companionship, a well-rounded activity and socialization program, family/caregiver support and wellness monitoring. With the use of Adult Day, for instance, caregivers can often continue to maintain their life without having to sacrifice their employment, daily responsibilities, health, rest and/or leisure activities. Home Services gives seniors and disabled adults a way to preserve their sense of dignity and rely less on family members to complete their daily activities. Through Home Services, we cared for 93 people from nine communities in 2015 (33,831 hours of care). In 2015, a total of 103 families from neighboring communities (and beyond) used our Adult Day Programs in Collinsville (66 families) and Edwardsville (37 families) to meet their loved one’s needs (49,619 hours of care).
